IMEC takes advantage of depleted Saints roster

Bob Lavoie's newly-formed team, the Calvary saints, had half its lineup unavailable for the 2016 season opener. That might have played a part in the saints' 10-5 loss to IMEC. Only one hit separated the two teams but they came in clusters for the Engineers who plated five in the top of the first when eight of the first nine in their order reached. The line score is almost an exact opposite with the first six Engineers accounting for most of IMEC's hits and the last five doing the same for Calvary. Joe D'Ambrosio, Geoff Geoffrion, Cam Boyd and Paul Berard managed three hits apiece for the winners with sub Joe Bimonte contributing two base knocks. Gary Boyle was high bat for the Halos with a 3-for-4 day, while two hits each were garnered by Greg Grote, Bill Kotopoulis and subs Kenny Rousseau, Gary Royal and Larry Hersh. Global Plastics 12,  Hanson's Automotive 11 A two-out Wally Hedlund single followed by three successive doubles by Mark Lara, Al Lamontagne and Joe Richards plated three and put a scare into the Global 11 as the Car Guys fell just short of overcoming a four-run deficit in the last of the seventh. ...
